Course Overview

This practical, two-day program seeks to give students a basic but very important introduction to presenting in front of audiences.  Rather than focus on abstract theory (which becomes more important as students develop), this program looks into forming positive habits in students that allow them to present with confidence and give persuasive presentations.  This involves placing an emphasis on practicing manner and presentation skills in a welcoming environment.

By providing supportive experiences at a young age, we aim to set a good foundation of confidence and positivity in younger students.  To this extent, class sizes are kept small to ensure that students are provided with a supportive environment where they are able to obtain individualised feedback from one of our experienced coaches.

Experience Levels

Our Tabby Cats course is a beginner program.

It is designed for students with little (or even no) experience presenting in front of audiences, and is perfect for shy and confident students alike!

If your child has some speaking experience and you’re not sure whether the Tabby Cats or Tigers (continuer) program is best for you, please get in touch and we’d be more than happy to discuss which is most appropriate for your child!

Main Objectives

Over the two days, students will be exposed to:

  • a wide range of speaking-based activities and games, both as individuals and as part of small groups, which seek to make them more comfortable presenting to a class;
  • practical rather than theoretical feedback to ensure that they are able to develop their presentation skills without recourse to abstract reasoning (which most students in this age group have not yet properly developed); and
  • a positive, fun and welcoming environment for them to develop their newfound skills with confidence.

Should I repeat the Tabby Cats holiday program?

If your child has already had a go at our Tabby Cats holiday course, they should join our Tigers holiday group – you can find more information about the continuer Tigers holiday program here!

What term program is best after Presentation Skills Tabby Cats?

If your child has already had a go at our Tabby Cats course, we would still recommend that they do our Term Tabby Cats program – the course content is very different to our holiday program, and students are bound to get plenty out of the course!
