Sophie is an energetic and enthusiastic coach who is uniquely able to relate to students of all abilities. She attended Danebank Anglican School for Girls, where she was School Captain and five time consecutive winner of the Sport Representative and Team Spirit Awards. Whilst at school Sophie had a penchant for leadership, completing her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and being awarded Lions Youth of the Year Lugaro, in 2019. Sophie is an experienced public speaker, having represented her school in competitions such as Rostrum and Festival of Speech throughout high school. Whilst at school Sophie was actively involved in numerous volunteering projects, including coordinating a MAD for Homelessness Sleepover, organising Christmas Concert for Senior Citizens and managing a Life Skills Dance for students with disabilities. For her efforts in serving the community Sophie was awarded the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership Award in 2018, a prestigious award for any student leader. Sophie is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts and Advanced Studies at the University of Sydney. Alongside working as a debating and public speaking coach for Speaking Schools, she also tutors Year 10 - 12 students in HSC subjects and was involved with the Australasia Alliance of Girls Leadership Summit in 2020. Sophie’s favourite thing about public speaking is sharing topics she is passionate about, an ethos that she works hard to pass onto her students.
