Therese is an animated and enthusiastic coach with a passion for developing the confidence of every student that she coaches. She has extensive experience with school debating, having started as early as possible in Year 5. She has not only participated in a range of debating and public speaking competitions, but also engaged in lots of the behind-the-scenes work with teachers to grow the debating community at her school.
Therese took on the role of Public Speaking Captain during her school days, demonstrating her ability to plan, lead with compassion, and amplify the voices of her peers. Whether it was assembling school-wide initiatives or hosting inter-school competitions (including ISDA and Archdale), her passion for public speaking and debating shone. Now finished with school, Therese has still carried that passion into her work as a coach.
Therese has a diverse range of skills and interests, evidenced by her qualifications from the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and for netball umpiring. Therese also illustrates her passion for performing and expressing her ideas through music, holding a Grade 6 Distinction in Piano. She's currently working towards her AMEB's Certificate of Performance, showcasing a dedication to her craft that translates into all aspects of her life. Her versatility is reflected in her classroom, and she is great at sharing relevant examples, contexts and anecdotes with students to help bring content home.
