Amanda Ching

Amanda is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Politics and International Studies) at the University of Melbourne, and has a life long love of public speaking and debating.

While at school, Amanda was appointed Debating Captain and was selected as a member of the Victorian State Squad for the National Schools Debating Championships, the first person in her school to ever achieve that honour!

Since starting university, Amanda has continued to be an active member of the debating community. She was a Grand Finalist of the Australasian Women and Gender Minorities Debating Championships in 2024, and in 2023 judged the Quarter Finals of the same tournament.

Amanda loves giving back her knowledge of debating to the next generation. She is an accredited public speaking and debating judge with the Debaters of Association of Victoria and has run a number of training seminars as part of their programs.

Amanda's passion for debating and love of working with children make her a fun and much loved member of the SSA team!
