Originally from New Zealand, Tony has spent a large part of life perfecting the art of debating, both as a participant and a coach.
As a debater, Tony has numerous grand final appearances and top 10 speaker awards from New Zealand National Championships both at school and university. He also made the finals of the World Schools Debating Championships in 2021 and the Australian British Parliamentary Debating Championships in 2024
Tony coached the Otago Regional Debating Team for three years, including a record breaking grand final win at the 2024 New Zealand National Schools Debating Championships. At the same time, Tony was also a coach for the New Zealand National Schools team at the World Schools Debating Championships, where they made the finals series on multiple occasions. Not just limited to New Zealand, Tony has also worked as a Senior Coach for the Taiwan National Development Pool.
Having now jumped across the ditch, Tony is studying a Masters of Public Policy and Management at the University of Melbourne. He continues to be actively involved in debating as a participant, coach and judge.
