Tharidhu has always been passionate about public speaking and debating with over 7 years of experience in Public Speaking, Debating and Model United Nations. He has spent most of his life engaging in these activities, and has enjoyed a great deal of success.
He is highly experienced in Model United Nations, having won the Best Delegate Award at the National Youth Model UN competition in 2017 and 2019. He was also the Debating Captain and Head Prefect at school, where he won the Sri Lanka Schools Debating Championship.
Tharidhu is heavily involved in working with children. He has individually mentored over 100 primary and high school students, worked as a tutor and engaged in both drama and debating coaching. He has also continued as an adjudicator of high school and university debates.
For Tharidhu, public speaking is about more than just winning competitions - it's about using his skills to initiate positive change in the world. It also showed him the value of and purpose of debating beyond the glamour of awards and recognition which he believes is a platform to speak, educate, aware and make change.
