Gautama has always loved public speaking and debating. He gave his first competition speech in year 5 and continued competing in the Rostrum and Legacy Public Speaking competitions. As a debater, Gautama represented Sydney Boys High School for many years in the Premier's Debating Challenge, Eastside and GPS competitions.
This passion has continued onto university, where Gautama has extensive experience representing UNSW. He was a Quarter-Finalist in 2022 at the Australian National Debating Championships. He has also won competitions hosted by UNSW and UTS, and adjudicated the finals of tournaments at UNSW and ANU.
Gautama brings to this role a lot of experience working with high school students. He coaches debating at Sydney Boys High School and Redlands and has adjudicated the finals of prestigious competitions such as ISDA, Archdale, the Premier's Debating Challenge, FED and SDN. Outside of debating, he also loves coaching the school cricket team!
Gautama believes in the value of debating and public speaking as an activities to help kids find confidence and find their voice, and knows first hand the benefits it can bring. Gautama brings that passion into every class he teaches at Speaking Schools.
