How have you been involved in Public Speaking and Debating in the past

I began entering public speaking and debating competitions at age 10, as I enjoy the art of convincing and entertaining others, and have carried this passion throughout my life. Since 2015, I have worked as an adjudicator for public speaking and debating competitions across the state, while also organising and working alongside schools as a mentor for students in both primary and secondary education.

What experience do you have working with kids?

As a public speaking and debating coach for the last 4 years I have enjoyed every moment spent helping students expand their capacities to engage, communicate and illustrate their points more effectively. Furthermore for the last 7 years I have worked as a tennis coach, establishing what people desire to improve the most about their current skills. These experiences have helped me managed students of all ages more effectively and reinforced my desires to become a secondary science teacher

What is the greatest piece of advice you could give to students afraid of Public Speaking

I wish someone had told me that being scared of public speaking and debating at first is normal. It was one of the most terrifying experiences when I first started but by continually putting myself out there I found my own voice, my own confidence and more faith in my own abilities.
