Daniel is a warm and engaging coach, and someone who is always ready to work with students to bring out their inner speaker. He attended St Ignatius College Riverview where he was College Prefect in his final year. Whilst at school he represented his school in the Independent Schools’ Debating Association (ISDA) and Catholic Schools Debating Association (CSDA), as well as social competitions including Inter-house Debating. Daniel’s favourite thing about debating is how unexpected it can be, and how it forces you to think on your feet. After finishing school Daniel volunteered in Sri Lanka teaching mathematics and English to underprivileged youth. Daniel is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Business Finance and Engineering (Honours) at the University of Technology Sydney, where he is actively involved in the Debating and Engineering Societies. In 2020 he was a recipient of the New Colombo Plan Scholarship, a prestigious program run by the Australian Government to lift relations in the Indo-Pacific region. Daniel also volunteered for the Two Wolves Community Cantina, a social enterprise that raises funds for disadvantaged communities. His experience working with children and his community mindset make Daniel a much-valued member of our team, who we recognise for his unique ability to engage with students.
