Check out what programs are available for the September holidays!
Bringing the fun of debating and public speaking to kids all over Sydney.
Canberra Speaking School, the second member of the Speaking Schools Australasia group, has been bringing our fun and educational programs to students across Canberra since 2017. With an emphasis on small classes, a welcoming environment and plenty of personal feedback from expert coaches, CSS aims to help every student bring their words to life.

Programs for students in their pre-teen years to help them prepare for their move into secondary education.
Ages: 12 – 15 years
Workshops for those who have started their high school lives, and are looking to either learn new skills, or develop those they already have.
Great confident teacher. He gave some helpful tips. Even I learned from it as a parent!
Great course. My child has learned so much and she wants to do it again next school holiday!
From start to finish, this course has continually challenged and helped to develop my son’s speaking skills. With his entry into high school approaching rapidly, I often worry if my son will be able to appropriately express his views and be confident enough to speak up in a bigger and scarier environment, that is unlike primary school. However, through this program, I now feel more assured than ever that my son will be able to speak confidently, formulate clear ideas and communicate well within his classroom and outside of school too. The directors were helpful and always willing to answer my nagging questions, and my son has also made lasting friendships. He has improved and achieved his personal bests in the difficult area of public speaking and I couldn’t possibly recommend this course more.
My son really enjoyed the activities and felt challenged. He also enjoyed being part of a group of children who enjoyed public speaking as much as he does.
My son particularly enjoyed the speaking course very much – he said he had a great teacher and wants to enrol again next holidays!
My daughter had an amazing time. She was keen to attend each day with enthusiasm. I think she is much more confident in her public speaking.
Thank you for the positive energy and feedback given throughout the 2-day course. My daughter found it fun and engaging, interacting with both her tutors and peers. She has taken on board new and inspiring ideas and has asked to do another course which is fantastic. Thank you to all the wonderful tutors!
After missing out on selection to her school debating team, my daughter’s confidence had crashed. I had to bribe her to attend your course. On day 1, I was thrilled to see her come skipping out, elated. She enjoyed every day immensely, her confidence is restored and now she gravely tells me I’ve no hope of winning arguments with her because “I’m a debater, Mum”.
Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the course and advised that she would love to attend another course in the future. She said it was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and couldn’t speak highly enough of her teacher. After completing the course she has a much better understanding of debating, feels confident and is looking forward to competing next term.
My son is starting high school this year and is fantastic to have a school like yours, offering these courses to young people. About the course, he found it enjoyable and extremely useful. Well done guys! Thank you for everything and please keep me updated about your upcoming events.
My daughter was hesitant to attend initially but just after attending the first day she totally loved it. She enjoyed the interactive games, learning tools for public speaking and making new friends
